No Power to the People!

Ugh, I’ve been without power at my house since 4PM on Friday.  We had some crazy storms come through on Friday afternoon and totally demolish something important that brings us our power.  I’m not an electrician…all I know is ComEd says I won’t get power until maybe tomorrow.

How is this gaming related?  It’s not…I’m just looking for pity.  I haven’t been able to use my home PC, my 50” plasma, or my game systems all weekend.  My wife and I have been trying to get by with our DS systems and the PSP all weekend.  It’s rough…very rough.  We did get a generator from my parents yesterday and supposedly, it’ll last for 9.5 hours on 1 gallon of gas.  We used the generator last night to charge up the DS and PSP and to give us some light in the bedroom…oh…and to use a fan…because it’s hotter than hell in our house.

Oh…and the hot water tank is just about drained all the way…no more hot showers…fun!

Anyone else ever need to go an extreme amount of time without electric?  How did you last?
