I am a huge supporter of Netflix.  I've had Netflix for probably a year or so and I can't begin to tell you how many movies that we have watched on DVD and Instant Play.  When I originally signed up for Netflix it was primarily to get away from the incredibly high charges from Blockbuster and the lack of a Hollywood Video near me.  Once we signed up we took a look at this Instant Play stuff which was cool since you can watch movies/shows on your computer or laptop, but honestly I cannot stand sitting at a computer to watch a movie, not interested.  Since then they have added the Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 3 and various other Netflix ready devices.

Here's the problem, they only allow you to register 6 devices.  While at first glance you think, "Wow 6!  That's a lot!"  But when you break it down it's not.  In my house we have two Xbox 360's, mine and my son's, both are Netflix enabled for obvious reasons. We also have two laptop's that are Netflix enabled for various reasons. (4) Now add in my iPad (5) and now our PlayStation 3.  (6) I tried to set up our Nintendo Wii but that's (7) which isn't allowed by Netflix.

The Xbox 360 Elite and PlayStation 3 are both hooked up in the living room, but since my TV only has one HDMI port I am forced to constantly switch back and forth between which console is connected.  In an effort to not have to further complicate that with Netflix I have it on both machines.  (BTW PlayStation 3 looks better)

As you can see the limit is low.  While I understand that they do this to mitigate their bandwidth costs but they already limit your Netflix streaming to two devices concurrently so WTF?  What's going to happen when Netflix comes to the iPhone?  Or when my wife/son gets an iPad or another laptop or other random internet device that has Netflix Instant Play.   In due time I may have to make some hard decisions and remove some devices we need.   Not cool!
