Valve releases Alien Swarm free of charge

Valve has just released co-op shooter Alien Swarm. The game features a large scale bug hunt that allows up to four players and combines cooperative play and squad based tactics. Alien Swarm was developed by a group of designers who were recruited from the extensive Source modding community. The game is completely free of charge, and also features updates to the Source engine as well as the software development kit for future modding.
