Ever wish you could play Civilization against thousands, rather than just a handful? Ever wish you could compete for technological, cultural and military supremacy on a much, much grander scale? Well, get ready to do just that, when Civilization Network, a Facebook based social network game drops sometime next year.
Although originally anticipated for this year, joystiq reported today that during BMO Capital Market's digital conference today, Take Two Interactive's Strauss Zelnick confirmed that Civilization Network will arrive in '11.
He also assured us Civaholics that we should see some material from the game "relatively soon." What does that mean? Zelnick didn't say. I can't find any screenshots or other materials from the development of this. There is the Facebook page... but other than the aforementioned link to the today's joystiq article, the last posting from "Dave" (David McDonough, producer of Civilization Network) on May 6th gives a very brief description of what players have to look forward do.
This is a Facebook game I'm excited for, though I imagine I would play anything if they put "Civlization" in front of it...

World-Gaming Network is a gaming website for gamers by gamers. With a no nonsense approach to news, reviews and previews, from people who will tell you like it is, as your friend. There are many sites that will give you news/reviews/previews but none that will give them to you like one of your friends. Founded over 9 years ago by two gamers that were born with a controller in their hand, we have come to realize that there are no gaming websites that take this approach. We give you the World-Gaming Network, your friend in the business.
