Wonder how this got through the Apple Gestapo.. but anyway, the Yelp app has implemented augmented reality on the iPhone. If you are not familiar with "augmented reality" it's basically placing virtual objects on a screen in the real world, kind of like a heads up display (HUD). Another example would be the view the Terminator sees from his point of view or say Robocop! Friggin' sweet eh? Many people are confused as to how and why this was approved as the API in the current SDK for iPhone 3.0.1 is not public and isn't going to be made public till 3.1 which is to be released sometime later this year.
