We just picked up on this news... That it appears the there will be a January 11 event held by Verizon announcing the Verizon iPhone...maybe

TechCrunch's MG Siegler got an invite, as did Jim Dalrymple over at Loop Insight. Other big news agencies are apparently on the invite list.

MG Siegler said the following-

"Well, for one thing, I don’t typically get invites directly from Verizon to anything. At least not that I can recall. They usually send those directly to the MobileCrunch and CrunchGear guys. But this invite appears to very specifically be for me — it’s non-transferable. Would Verizon send me such an invite unless it was specially about Apple?"

What's more, I was on my evening commute today and heard on NY's WCBS radio that there is news out of a coming Verizon iPhone release in "Spring 2011."

There have been rumors for months, but this is more than the wild speculations based on the expiration dates of exclusivity deals between AT&T and Apple.

Thanks Gizmodo, MG Siegler @ TechCrunch, Jim Dalrymple @ Loop Insight, and WCBS radio (not just for this news, but for the great traffic and weather reports!)

Some of you may have set your iPhone alarms to wake up today but found themselves oversleeping. Seems like the iOS alarm clock bug that snuck out during daylight savings time has reared its ugly head again. The good news is that this does not impact recurring alarms as it did during the daylight savings time bug. Another bit of good news, according to 9to5mac.com, is that the bug appears to fix itself after January 3rd, 2011.

If this bug affects you, you can simply set a recurring alarm for specific days. No official word from Apple yet, but we are sure that they are aware of the bug and are hastily working on it as I am sure many Apple employees woke up late.

There have been stories out their suggesting that the Verizon iPhone would be announced at the Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas next month but a new report from Business Week suggests that they announcement may actually come the following month in February. Just in time for Valentine's Day which would make a great gift for that special someone.

Previously, it was thought that Apple was going to step aside and allow Verizon to make a big splash announcement at CES, which really doesn't sound like something Apple will do.

No official words have been given from Apple about any events in February for the iPad 2 or a Verizon iPhone. I hope this is true and finally get some people off my AT&T and make my connection even better!

Here is an absolutely crazy thought I just had. This is merely a crazy thought with no indication from either Apple or Verizon on this subject. Just my own meandering thoughts.

We know that the White iPhone is coming soon; Soon as in Spring 2011. And of course there have been an insane amount of analyst babble and rumor mongering around the net that Verizon iPhone will be launched yesterday, today, tomorrow, next week, next month, next January, next summer... You get the picture. Is the Verizon iPhone coming? Only person that really knows is Steve Jobs and some Verizon head honcho. But let your mind wonder for a moment...

What if Apple released the white iPhone for Verizon only? No one said that the white iPhone is coming to AT&T just that it's going to be released right? If and when Verizon/Apple announced a Verizon iPhone the buzz will be immense, pure pandemonium will ensue as hordes of zom... people line up across the US to buy the Verizon iPhone. Now imagine an exclusive white iPhone for Verizon. Imagine what that could/would do? Would it alienate Apple supporters? I don't know.

Would it help sales or hinder sales? It won't happen but it would be fun to watch.

Bolt Creative announced the release of its update #36, dubbed "Konkey Dong" for its popular iPhone app, so popular in fact that it is recognized by Apple as one of the Top 10 Paid apps of 2010. The update is the third and final update to the "Ape Entertainment" tribute series, a series of updates that were released in honor of Pocket God Comics publisher.

The update adds some new mini-games, which are stylized in the motif of the classic video game, and there is a twist that "Pocket God fans will appreciate."
