IGN is reporting that their "sources" have leaked some details of the Nintendo 3DS specs. If these specs are legit, Nintendo is adding quite a bit of power to its next handheld. Here is what IGN is reporting:
IGN has learned that the Nintendo 3DS will pack not one, but two 266MHz ARM11 CPUs, along with a 133MHz GPU, 4MBs of dedicated VRAM, 64MBs of RAM, and 1.5GBs of flash storage. The information comes from persons familiar with the hardware who spoke to us under the condition of anonymity.
The original Nintendo DS was packing two ARM processors clocked at 67 MHz and 33 Mhz. It also came with 4MB of RAM. The Nintendo DSi was a bit faster with two ARM processors clocked at 133 Mhz and 66 Mhz. The DSi also came with 16MB of RAM. So yeah...the 3DS is going to be pretty powerful.
