After Resident Evil: Afterlife topped the box office this weekend, it appears that's enough to warrant a fifth movie in the franchise.  Milla Jovovich spoke with New York Magzine's Vulture section about how the success of the opening weekend has got them eyeing a fifth movie.

“So we’re definitely going to make another one,” she said, adding that director Paul W.S. Anderson, her husband, already has some ideas for the fifth Resident Evil installment, and this time he wants the audience's ideas, too. "We’ve been talking to a lot of fans on Twitter and stuff, so it’s probably going to be one of the first movies where we really talk to fans to see what they want, and what characters they want to see. It's going to be a more interactive process."

I'll be honest, I don't want them to drop the series.  I know the first movie wasn't based off a game directly, but I think it worked.  After that...each movie seemed to go further and further off the deep end. I know they need to "change it up" and stuff...but it just seemed like they wanted to change it just to change it...not for a specific reason.  I also don't want to see them to reboot the franchise just cause they've spun it so far out of control.  I'm placing my bets that next the next Resident Evil movie will be Resident Evil: Lunar Plague or some shit.
