The Nintendo 3DS is just a few weeks away from it's US launch. 1UP recently received their unit and has provided a nice unboxing video errr gallery of pictures. Take a look.

1UP Nintendo 3DS US Unboxing Gallery

Nintendo has released the first Nintendo 3DS TV commercial in the US.  The Nintendo 3DS is coming out on March 27th.

I'm still not sold on the device.  I almost like the UK commercial a little bit more.

The 3DS hasn't hit the western shores yet and Nyko has announced two accessories, one that will be made available on March 27th, just in time for the North American Nintendo 3DS launch.

Even though we haven't yet seen the actual capacity of the 3DS battery, Nyko has announced the release of the Nyko Power Pak+ and the Nyko Charge Base.  The Power Pack+ is a high-capacity rechargeable battery pack that will offer double the battery life of the stock 3DS battery. If you don't remember the 3DS battery is roughly 3-5 hours so theoretically the Power Pack+ will extend that to 6-10 hours. This accessory will be made available March 27th and will cost $19.99.

The Nyko Charge Base is a drop-in charging and storage solution for the 3DS and comes bundled with the extended battery (Power Pack+) and will launch sometime after the 3DS launch and will run you $29.99. The Charge Base will feature an on/off switch as well as LED indicator lights that will indicate when the battery is charging or full.

Both devices use the standard charger for the 3DS.

It seems the Acekard team was able to get the Acekard 2i running on the Nintendo 3DS.  Here's the deal though, they aren't planning on releasing the update for their flashcart yet until the EU and US release of the Nintendo 3DS.  They are worried that once the update is released, Nintendo will release a software update that will block the flashcarts once again.  Here is their exact quote:

We won't release the patch until more testing is made. And we are also concerned Nintendo might block it so *maybe* we'll release it after the 3DS is released in US and Europe.

We don't condone piracy here at World-Gaming Network, but it is interesting to see that people are already breaking the protection on the 3DS.  Pretty sure this won't allow people to pirate 3DS games yet.  However, you can bet your ass that flashcart developers are working around the clock to be the first to the market with one.

At least that's what Destructoid is reporting. Despite being released just yesterday in Japan, hackers have already found a way to use R4 cards to download DS games on to the 3DS. While this hacking business is intriguing, it's really starting to annoy me to hear how frequently and easy people are able to hack all of the major consoles. You check out the video below to see how they do it, but I really would not recommend doing this yourself.
