Have you ever attempted to log into an Xbox 360 other than your own? Well if you have, you're probably very familiar with the painstaking process that is the 'gamertag recovery.' The good news is that this is soon be the way of the Dodo as Microsoft is bringing the 'Cloud' to Xbox 360.

Larry Hyrb, Xbox's Major Nelson, tweeted this afternoon that profiles and game saves will soon be available wherever you are via the cloud. This new cloud based system makes it easier to login from other Xbox 360 systems without utilizing 'gamertag recovery' and will make your entire profile (including Achievements, game saves) available anywhere.

This update, once available, will clear away the need to save locally and take your game saves with you to a friends house. Conversely you can also save to the cloud while at a friends house thereby never losing your progress.

Unfortunately no further information in terms of pricing (if any) and availability other than "later this year."

About Us

World-Gaming Network is a gaming website for gamers by gamers. With a no nonsense approach to news, reviews and previews, from people who will tell you like it is, as your friend. There are many sites that will give you news/reviews/previews but none that will give them to you like one of your friends. Founded over 9 years ago by two gamers that were born with a controller in their hand, we have come to realize that there are no gaming websites that take this approach. We give you the World-Gaming Network, your friend in the business.
