Big tech news today, Microsoft has bought Skype for a reported $8.5 billion dollars in cash. Wow, wish I had that lying around. But why is Microsoft buying Skype? While this news didn't appear to be too gaming related, further reading has sources stating that Microsoft is looking to bring Skype support to Xbox 360/Live and Kinect as well as a myriad of other Windows devices like Windows Phone.
Quick thing to note is that Skype is already available on the Sony PSP. No ideas of a release date were mentioned but it's good to know Microsoft is looking to always improve the Xbox Live service beyond what we have.
