This is something that might bring Blockbuster back into the game.  Last year Blockbuster piloted 'Games by Mail' which was apparently successful hence Blockbuster is now adding the program to the Blockbuster by Mail service nationwide.  Blockbuster appears to be beating both Netflix and Gamefly to the punch and offering both services under a common starting price...$8.99.  If you're already a member of the Blockbuster by Mail service then the Games by Mail service will be added at no additional charge.

The lowest price, $8.99 will allow 1 game/movie out at a time with unlimited rentals a month and gives Blockbuster customers access to over 3,000 games for the Xbox, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3 and the Nintendo Wii.

Clearly Blockbuster is fighting hard for the win since Netflix doesn't offer games and Gamefly doesn't offer movies.  If you were to join both services (Netflix and Gamefly) at there lowest offering it would cost $17.94 + tax.  But are you ready to get rid of your Netflix account for Blockbuster?  I'm not.

About Us

World-Gaming Network is a gaming website for gamers by gamers. With a no nonsense approach to news, reviews and previews, from people who will tell you like it is, as your friend. There are many sites that will give you news/reviews/previews but none that will give them to you like one of your friends. Founded over 9 years ago by two gamers that were born with a controller in their hand, we have come to realize that there are no gaming websites that take this approach. We give you the World-Gaming Network, your friend in the business.
