OnLive just announced that it will be working with Vizio to integrate their OnLive Gaming Service into Vizio VIA Plus TVs and into Vizio's upcoming VIA Blu-ray.  In addition to the Vizio devices, OnLive will also be available on Android tablets and smartphones.  Pretty slick, I'd love to see OnLive on my Android phone.  Here is the word from OnLive and don't forget you can read my full review of the OnLive Gaming Service HERE:

In the past, you have always needed to buy and connect a console to your TV if you wanted to play the latest state-of-the-art games. No longer.  Now the TV itself can deliver instant, state-of-the-art game play. No discs, downloads, or updates needed. Games start up as instantly as changing channels, and you can spectate games in the Arena just as you surf through live TV content. No hassles. Just play.

Today, we’re happy to announce that the OnLive® Game Service will be integrated into new VIZIO® VIA Plus™ TVs at up to 1080p resolution in 3D*. Not only that, but OnLive will also be integrated into VIZIO’s new line of VIA Blu-ray™ players, Android™ tablets and smartphones.

With the click of a remote control, or a tap on a tablet or phone touchscreen, VIZIO owners will be immediately transported into the OnLive Game Service, with the same state-of-the-art, instant game experience you get with the OnLive MicroConsole TV adapter, PCs, Macs®, and the iPad®. In fact, you’ll be able to save your OnLive game on one device, and instantly resume it on another device. Seamlessly.

Just as you can enjoy services such as Netflix® and Pandora® across virtually all consumer electronic devices, you’ll also be able to enjoy OnLive everywhere. The OnLive game experience is generated in the cloud, so as a device ages, the OnLive experience remains state-of-the-art. This is extremely important for long life-cycle devices like TVs: For example, in 5 years, your OnLive-integrated VIZIO TV will still be compatible with the latest, highest-performance games.

You can see OnLive technology built into VIZIO HDTVs at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week. The first OnLive-integrated VIZIO products will be in stores later this year.

Also at CES, we’ll be demoing the OnLive Game Service with SRS 5.1™ Surround Sound. What’s cool about SRS 5.1 is that, like OnLive, it works compatibly across all devices. It’s compatible with both SRS and non-SRS surround sound decoders. If you only have stereo or even mono sound, you’ll still get the best audio for the setup you have. Surround sound makes for an incredibly immersive experience when playing a game on the OnLive Service: you hear sounds all around you, and as you rotate your character, the sounds rotate around the room as if you are in the game. Combined with 3D, it is mind-blowing. SRS 5.1 surround sound will be an automatic free update to all users in early 2011.

About Us

World-Gaming Network is a gaming website for gamers by gamers. With a no nonsense approach to news, reviews and previews, from people who will tell you like it is, as your friend. There are many sites that will give you news/reviews/previews but none that will give them to you like one of your friends. Founded over 9 years ago by two gamers that were born with a controller in their hand, we have come to realize that there are no gaming websites that take this approach. We give you the World-Gaming Network, your friend in the business.
