I don't realistically see this happening anytime soon, but hype is always fun. It gets up your expectations, but never quite meets them. I just hope it's not a 3D console, nobody takes 3D seriously and it's really just a fad. If Avatar is any measure of what 3D can do, then I want no part in it. Things like Avatar would be nice if it was advertised as a roller coaster rather than an actual movie with a plot, characters and dialogue. Granted I wouldn't touch the 3DS with a 10.1 ft pole, but I still think that a 3D console would be a terrible idea, as it would move the industry even further away from the things that matter, like gameplay. Anyway, here's the speculation below.

Nintendo game designer (and co-creator of Metroid) Yoshio Sakamoto is hyping up Nintendo's next console—even if it could be another eight years away. "At Nintendo we always have the obligation to surprise users with a new game console."

Sakamoto spoke to the 3D Juegos website about the upcoming console, saying that they "have never done what others have. We prefer to create something new that catches attention, and I think this will continue this time as well." If he's referring to a 3D console, eight years' time could be far too late for that.

World-Gaming Network is a gaming website for gamers by gamers. With a no nonsense approach to news, reviews and previews, from people who will tell you like it is, as your friend. There are many sites that will give you news/reviews/previews but none that will give them to you like one of your friends. Founded over 9 years ago by two gamers that were born with a controller in their hand, we have come to realize that there are no gaming websites that take this approach. We give you the World-Gaming Network, your friend in the business.
