I love Cash Cab so much.  Now I guess I can love it on my wife's iPhone.

LOS ANGELES, CA – August 19, 2010 – Capcom Mobile and Discovery Communications today announced Cash Cab: Las Vegas, the sequel to their smash trivia Cash Cab app, is now available on the App Store.

Capturing the spirit of the show, Cash Cab: Las Vegas challenges players to a battery of diverse trivia questions as they navigate the streets of Las Vegas. As the meter ticks, stakes get higher. Miss three questions and the Cash Cab pulls over and ejects the contestants onto the sidewalk, no matter where they are in the city.

The new game features 16 destinations set around Las Vegas as well as updated graphics inspired by sin city’s nightlife. Additionally, host and comedian Ben Bailey is featured prominently in the new game and chimes in with his signature color commentary based on the player’s performance.

The Cash Cab: Las Vegas App is available for $2.99 from the App Store on iPhone and iPod touch or at www.itunes.com/appstore/. For more information, visit www.capcommobile.com/iphone.

Openfeint Allows You To Play Mobile Games Cross Platform PDF Print E-mail
Written by Daniel Horowitz

OpenFeint, the software kit developed by Aurora Feint Inc, now allows mobile gamers to play with friends cross platform. With a total of 35 million registered users and a presence on over 2,600 games, lonely iPhone gamers can now play with their friends that own Droids. Check out the press release for more information.

Burlingame, Calif. - August 18, 2010 - After announcing its expansion to Android last month, Aurora Feint is today unveiling a viral game distribution system for its leading social gaming network, OpenFeint. With OpenFeint 2.6, players will be able to send SMS and e-mail game invites to any contact on their phone, helping accelerate social distribution for game developers. Available first on iOS devices, OpenFeint will launch this viral game distribution system cross platform following its expansion to Android.

The new system is immediately available to OpenFeint's 35 million players and their friends. It will work primarily through SMS and e-mail and let players send personal messages to contacts on their phones, inviting them to play the games they love. The inclusion of Android's rapidly growing device base, with over 200,000 devices added daily, will only amplify the invitation system's viral reach. Safeguards have been installed to prevent spamming.

"With Game Center just around the corner and thousands more games coming on the market every year, effective and unique promotion is more important than ever," says Jason Citron, CEO of Aurora Feint. "By creating this out-of-network invite system, we'll help players give more organic game endorsements shedding light on the best games out there and resulting in more game downloads."

"One glaring problem with today's mobile gaming community is how fractured it is across platforms, OpenFeint is bridging the gap between gamers," says Peter Relan, Executive Chairman of Aurora Feint. "As we expand cross platform this summer, we're going to roll out services that will help friends that use different device platforms play against each other."

Aurora Feint continues to invest in a steady stream of improvements to their platform. Other features being upgraded with OpenFeint 2.6 include a new time-based leaderboard system that includes geo-location services.

This update comes after a second round of funding from Chinese investor, The9, early last month.

QuakeCon 2010: id Software's John Carmack demonstrated Rage, running on an iPhone, at an impressive 60 frames-per-second. His statement: it is able to "kill anything done on the Xbox or Playstation 2."

In fact, while Carmack's demonstration was done using the id Tech 5 engine, and running on an iPhone 4, Carmack stated it "runs great on an original 2G iPhone," and that compared to their other titles, this will run as a similar framerate to DOOM classic, and significantly better than DOOM Reserection.
